Blue Splattered Dress

(Forever 21 Dress & Cover-up, Urban Outfitters Sandals, Wetseal Belt, World Market Earrings & Bracelet, )

It has been exceptionally warm here in Ohio over the past 2 weeks, so keeping cool has been a top priority. With this blue splattered spaghetti-strapped dress, it couldn't be easier. I've been daring lately in trying to mix colors up, something I normally would never do. But I believe that mixing 2 contrasting colors gives an outfit a certain spunk and uniqueness. With this blush-colored, short-sleeved, loose, and light cover-up, it's the perfect neutralizer to this bold royal blue.

Sister Spotlight: Flower Child

(Forever 21 Romper & Earrings, Target Sandals, Express Bracelet)

My sister, Jane, is someone who has always inspired me, especially in the fashion sense. She has a way of putting outfits together that really look polished, sophisticated, as well as fun! This floral romper is PERFECT for summer in every way: it's light-weight, comfortable, as well as girly and pretty. Floral prints seem to never go in and out of style; it seems to always stays put in the trends. Take a look at these pictures of my gorgeous sister for floral inspiration as she struts her stuff in this beautiful summer piece!

High-Low "Skirt"

(Forever 21 Dress & Shirt, Kohls Sandals, Cara's Boutique Ring, Mom's Gold Necklace, Essie Nail Polish in Peach Daiquiri, ULTA Lipstick in Perfect Nude)

Yesterday's weather was gloomy all day with nothing but gray skies. This led me to pick an outfit that strayed away from the normal, in-style, spring/summer colors that are trending right now and wear a classic color - black. This "skirt" is actually a dress! However, I could not completely steer away from the pastels that I'm loving right now, so tying this over sized blush shirt over this dress was the perfect addition that kept me tuned into the color trend.

My Favorite Self Tanner

(Fake Bake Flawless - Amazon or ULTA)

Summer is practically here, and what girl doesn't want to have that summer glow? Of course, there's always the option of laying out by the pool, but I've discovered something that works even better for me and my naturally fair skin! It's the Fake Bake Flawless. This self-tanner is easily the best self-tanner I have ever come across for several reasons:
  1. The scent: This self-tanner's scent smells like coconut and does not have the typical self-tanner smell that most do.
  2. The color: Fake Bake Flawless gives a bronzed brown color, NOT an orange color, making it look natural!
  3. Streak-free: The soft mitt is the reason for this. Because of this great applicator, the self-tan goes on completely streak-free. Also, this product has a high color guard, meaning that you can see where you spray it.
  4. Quick-dry: This product dries SO FAST. I am able to put clothes on right away after I have applied it. However, make sure you avoid any contact with water for at least 6 hours. This time enables the self-tan to soak into your skin.

Edgy Watercolors

(Express Dress, Sunglasses, & Gold Bangle, Urban Outfitters Sandals, Forever 21 Earrings, Essie Nail Polish in Peach Daiquiri, Loreal Lipstick in Tropical Coral)

I have been experimenting with edginess lately in the outfits that I have been putting together for myself. I've had this dress for a month or so now, and I already knew that it could be dressed up because I wore it for Easter! Today, I was in the mood to tone out the dressiness with some edge. I believe that pairing it with these unique sandals gave it the exact look I was going for.
